Megan J. Horner, JD MBA
Megan is a managing partner at Brinich & Bertalan, LLP, in Bend, Oregon. She came to the law after spending more than a decade as a successful international professional cyclist. Megan focuses on Estate Planning and Administration and Elder Law, which includes Will and/or Trust based planning, Power of Attorney, Advanced Medical Directives, Special Needs Trust Planning, and Medicaid Planning. Megan works closely with her clients to ensure they can feel confident in their planning. Katie Clason, JD
Katie practices in the areas of estate planning & administration, elder law, guardianships, and conservatorships. Prior to practicing estate planning, Katie spent several years as a Deschutes County deputy district attorney where she led a multidisciplinary team tasked with investigating the abuse of seniors and disabled adults. Katie graduated from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2010 and received her B.A. in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 2006. Katie serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bend as well as the local steering committee for the Campaign for Equal Justice. She is also a 2019 graduate of Leadership Bend. In her free time, she enjoys live music and exploring the outdoors with her family.
Wendy Miki Glaus, JD CPA
Wendy is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Hawaii and the District of Columbia. She serves as an Elder Law Attorney, Estate Planning Attorney, a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Oregon, and an Accredited VA attorney. She is certified as an elder law specialist and recognized as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the American Bar Association (ABA), accredited by the National Elder Law Foundation. She is also certified as an Estate Planning Law Specialist and Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) by the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc., an organization accredited by the American Bar Association and affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC). Her practice focused on estate planning specializing in Medicaid planning and applications, probates, conservatorships, guardianships, Veterans benefits, estate taxes, gift taxes, income taxes, and housing and care issues for the elderly. Her dedication and expertise provide families, including her own, with assistance in qualification for Medicaid and other available government benefits.
Leah Greenwald, JD
Leah brings to the Firm a diverse legal background and strong attention to detail making her ideally suited to join our guardianship and conservatorship practice and probate administration team.
Leah began her legal career as a public defender in Portland, Oregon, after graduating from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles as a Public Interest Scholar. She then transitioned to a two-attorney partnership in Portland, focusing on criminal defense, police misconduct and prisoner civil rights litigation. After moving to Bend in 2013, she worked for a criminal defense firm before joining Brinich & Bertalan, LLP. Leah ’s undergraduate degree is in psychology and community studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors of Oregon with her family.
